Power Aerobics Class – Monday 6.15pm – Bullamoor Junior School, Northallerton
Hi/lo energy alternate aerobics & tone.
This is the class that got me started; I got dragged there 10 years ago and now run it!! Helping a friend in distress was the turning point in my career. I have kept the class similar to how it was run all those years but ‘us’ Instructors all teach differently so added my own bits to it!!!!
Quick warm up possibly go through some of the moves, quick stretch then away we GO!! I teach you/go over the routine, add to it then ‘go’ for it! So we do the routine for a few minutes then stop and start some toning exercises on our feet. Say squats, lunges, waist work, arms etc….. Just when your legs are saying “NO MORE” we drag the routine back at a faster pace. It’s excellent when you know the routine too as you can just go for it!
The more difficult moves I will prompt you with my back to you, but to be honest I like to mirror image as its bad practice plus I want to see you!! I will always try to prompt you your next move too. Nothing worse when you left just to do it, I don’t learn myself until I have been told a few hundred times!! Normally change the routine every half term, so I and you don’t get bored plus its good to learn something new!
I don’t want to scare you off I do occasionally (the guys may challenge the word occasionally!!) push my luck at class and just do say 4 or 16 more!
It’s a fast paced class but still fine for beginners as can be performed low impact too, it’s your class so you just do what you can and better yourself each week.
So after a bit of routine, standing tone, routine we tone again, routine dragged back until I can tell you have had enough – normally just after 7pm! Quick stretch and get the mats out (which is what you have come for – a lie down!!!) We blast the legs bum area again then finish off with some tummy work. (If struggle with sit-ups there are always some other exercises so don’t shy away from class I can help)
Fastest hour of your life and go home feeling chuffed to bits with yourself and head for sofa and tea.
One of my favorite classes – fun with some hard work!!!
“Fab instructor! Great fun routines. Keep it coming” – Kate Staines.
