Freestyle Fitness Yoga – Class not running at present time
Incorporates deep stretch, yoga postures & Pilate’s exercises – improve flexibility.
2007 I booked myself on Jayne Nicholls course, thought it was time I furthered my Fitness knowledge. This was an opportunity I could not miss out on as Jayne hardly came up to our neck of the woods. It cost me I think over £200 to book. There was no turning back – the weekend came and I headed up to a Middlesbrough gym for my training. I had never even been to Yoga class and had no interest in a non sweaty exercise class!! Why? I ask myself did I ever part with my money and book on? Who knows??
We had a full on 6- 7 hours doing FFY learning about it and having to perform in front of class! I found it hard and broke down in tears I don’t learn that fast unfortunately and found it well out of my comfort zone – the shutters came down and my head was about to explode! That evening got home shattered every muscle in my body ached and had to sit down and learn and go through it all – not much sleep that night.
Woke up Sunday with a stiff and sore body and a head full of Yoga but very tearful and terrified!! Got through the day scraped a pass but had a lot more to learn if I was to teach this. This was so out of my comfort zone.
Few years on and it’s a super class – it mimics Yoga but not chanting and blankets!! Basically just follow me and recently we put the moves into a lovely sequence. I’m learning all the time on this class and you will often see me with my notes nearby!
FFY is not spiritual; it mimics yoga in its style offering posture that endorses strength and Stability. FFY is a fitness program that incorporates deep stretch, Yoga postures and Pilate’s exercises. Can improve flexibility in around 8 weeks, learn stabilizing muscles and use them effectively and efficiently to improve posture and with more confidence. It’s a super add on to your weekly exercise or just to help with our day to day busy lives.
